Keivan Mohseni Nominated for Best Cinematography at the 15th ISFA Awards

According to the public relations office of the Iranian Short Film Academy Awards (ISFA Awards), the nominees of the 15th edition have been announced across nine categories, including Best Original Score, Best Production Design & Costume Design, Best Sound, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Screenplay, Best Acting, Best Directing, and Best Film.

In the Best Cinematography category, Keivan Mohseni has been nominated for the short film “Mia,” alongside Pouyan Aghababayi for “Sonata of Good Women” and “Pre Historic,” and Masoud Amini Tirani for “As The Ocean Sleeps”

The short film “Mia” has also received nominations in three additional categories: Best Sound, Best Directing, and Best Original Score.

“Mia,” directed by Seyed Ali Ghasemi and starring Amin Miri and Sajad Hamidian, features director of photography – Keivan Mohseni and is produced by Nima Eghlima. The short film, produced in 2025, is internationally distributed under the title “Haze Over.”

The film has previously been recognized at several international festivals, including Official Selection at the 25th imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival (Academy Award® Qualifying, 2025), Winner of Honorable Mention for Best Short Film at the 14th Short Sweet Film Fest (2025), as well as Official Selections at the 28th International Film Festival ZOOM – ZBLIŻENIA and the 14th Julien Dubuque International Film Festival.

“Mia” was shot in black and white in the forests of northern Iran. The film’s colorist is Farhad Ghodsi. Sattar Goodarzi served as First Assistant Camera, with Hossein Shabahang, Aria Yazdi, and Yousef Javan as additional camera assistants.

The Iranian Short Film Academy Awards (ISFA Awards), organized annually by the Iranian Short Film Association (ISFA), honor outstanding achievements in short filmmaking each year.
